A short bio:

Sercan Aygun holds a B.Sc. degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and a double major in Computer Engineering from Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Turkey, which he received in 2013. He then went on to obtain an M.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 2015, and a second M.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from Anadolu University in 2016. In 2022, Sercan earned his Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering from Istanbul Technical University. Currently, Sercan is a postdoctoral research scientist at the Emerging Computing Technologies Lab. at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, led by Professor M. Hassan Najafi. Prior to this, he gained 9 years of experience in teaching and research at Yildiz Technical University's Computer Engineering Department. Sercan's research interests encompass a range of topics, including Stochastic Computing, Unary Processing, Hyperdimensional Computing, and Vision & Learning Machines. He is particularly interested in applying these techniques to Agricultural Data Processing, Biometrics, and Recommender Systems.
